not coming out

CounterStrikePJ Apr 27, 2007 10:46 AM

I haven't see my snake crawling around its cage I know that they are nocturnal but sometimes i'll go in my room about 10 PM which has had the lights turned out and I was wonderind if it was the pine I have in there or if it was to humid because I take one of those towles that you use to wipe you face after brushing your teeth and make nice and wet and put it over my snakes cage and then i spray his cage with a squirt bottle in the Mornong and at night. Thanks in Advance

on your setup, temps cage structure etc.

Quite often I will not see an individual BRB until I pull it out of it's hide for feeding. Thye are nocturnal and if comfy and not hungry, quite content to just chill out in the hide.

As Dave said we need more details to give you a good answer.
However something to keep in mind is that if your boa is young then it's natural instinct is to stay hidden as much as possible so it isn't eaten. This is in addition to them being extremely nocturnal animals.

When mine were babies the only time I'd sometimes see them out voluntarily was if the rood had been pitch black for several hours already. Which pretty much means that I only ever saw them out cruising when I woke up at like 1 in the morning and turned the lights on.

My rainbows only come out when hungry. As soon as they are fed, they go hide for 3-5 days then out on the prowl again. though my male has been prowling every night even right after I fed him...either he's still hungry or he wants my female LOL But he is chunky enough so he will just have to suck it up till next feeding day.
