i know this may be a dumb question, but i know that bearded's and people can get adenovirus. is it possible for an owner to contract it, or is it mainly a lifespan issue for the beardy only?

This is too broad and complicated a question to pose here. You should just google "adenovirus" and make your own decision.
In general, Adenovirus is a type of virus that effects humans as well as animals. But, in my opinion, the species of Adenovirus that can infect a reptile is unlikely to be able to infect a human. In humans this virus is generally not as debilitating as in reptiles anyway. I think it inappropriate for me to say more as I am not a doctor.
