Observed my Black Throat:

Burrowing, eating like mad, gaining weight and length, fast and alert, hot and active, has an attitude but lets me pick him up, wants to return to enclosure after handling, lots of healthy looking dung.

I think I even saw a smile on his face when sleeping.

Thanks for the information. My monitor has benefited.

If you listen to certain posters, you'll be spending a lot of money on feeding healthy monitors, not to mention all the work you'll end up digging up and incubating eggs.
It's these folks fault I am trying to get my rudi a girfriend.
It will also be there fault when I am tired and eventually end up with a bucket of baby lizards.
Damn them all...........................

I love these pictures, but I havent bothered to hatch any eggs in a while.

In fact I think its funny, the busier I am, the less time I spend with the reptiles, the better they seem to do, less messing things up that arent broken I guess.
Many years ago with the cges I used, I never would have thought you could let them go without changing anything, etc without having serious problems. Set them up right the first time, feed them, and watch them do the work.

Hello Kap,
There were quite a few rudis in the classifieds recently... They don't seem to be moving either (buyers market!) and are getting cheaper and cheaper... I considered a small group of them but I do have my hands full at the present. Great lizards though and very entertaining... Best to you- Mike

I have a juvie female being shipped in the next couple of week to keep my juvie male company.
I have been using this time to add more boxes with different substrates and temps.
Also working on another cage incase they decide they don't like one another.
Hope for the best, expect the worse.
