String of Pearls?

This is my first year breeding corn snakes, or any snake for that matter. My female corn did lay some eggs yesterday, they seemed odd to me. If I was thinking right, I would have taken pictures. She laid 5 eggs (not sure if she was done as she kept wondering around and going back into the lay box, then out again. I spruced up the lay box, just in case it wasn't to her liking, (also thought more eggs may be under the moss and noticed it was a bit dry and she took a dump in there too, so quickly cleaned it up etc).

Anyway, the eggs she did lay, one was obviously bad (small and yellowish), two were attached to each other by a string (very small, probably oviduct goo that dried) and the last two were also similarly attached. However the second egg attached was very odd, almost gel like. The other two were firm and look/felt like reptile eggs should feel. My question is, is it normal for freshly laid eggs to feel rather gel like? Like a partially filled water balloon?

Pictures would help..but I would go out on a limb and say the gel feeling eggs are probably bad. I have been though that with a few this season.
BUT, If you have a question go ahead and incubate them. If they go bad you'll know it. You may get a surprise.
