Troy, it's really interesting to me that none of those bear much resemblance to the one I picked up about 25 miles further south on 118 last year (May) (pic below). Do you know of any pics of other alterna from the Elephant area?

the first two snakes in that photo are from 20 mi S of Alpine . . . I've seen several that look a lot like yours (caught by others)
