I should send you my snow female. She's in her pre-lay shed for her second clutch of the year right now. Her first clutch was layed on 3-15, and her next one should be here sometime before 5-15. Then again my ghost female wants nothing to do with breeding so she'll have to wait till next year. Be patient and keep puting them together, you still have all summer. Good luck.

Do I really have all summer? I was under the impression that I only had between her post brumation shed and her next shed (pre-lay).....?

........they breed when they want.......correct

and according to the list of snakes they have...just a female corn......and male black rats?........I think it said.....IF you are breeding *(or trying to) .....the black rat and corn..they may never actually copulate with each other.....species and sub-species even ,don't always mix......they can ..they just do it all the time......

.......every time she sheds try to breed them......

I'm thought she had a male corn that she was using, so I went back and checked, and it is a butter.

For those of you who haven't kept up, I had a loaner butter to breed to Hope my snow. Although she was ready and willing I never witnessed a copulation between them. Hope began to look VERY swollen and I thought that she was gravid (may have been regardless) After about 30 minutes of handling a day to build muscle tone I realised that she was just fat. She lost a lot of that weight after just a few days. So this kind of got my hopes down. So tonight I borrowed a second male from my friend. This male is only about 22" but my friend had said that after I returned his other male that this new one tried to breed him (he smelled like Hope) so I brought this male home today and regardless of the almost 2' size difference he was at it within about 3 minutes! So YAY! If I get amels then the butter did his job. If I get snows then this was the one. If I get both then I have proven that multiple males can fertilize one clutch.
