Update on Yellows

Ben_Renick Apr 28, 2007 09:16 PM

Here is an update on the Axanthic Yellow x Yellow breeding.

Just a courting pic...

Getting bigger...

Just took this one... She tends to 1/2 invert, she was more inverted, but whenever I opened the door she flipped back some...

Just a quick update...

Thanks,
Ben Renick

Ben,
She looks really good in the most recent photo. Interesting observation you made in that you have seen her lay sideways a few times. That's one thing I have noticed with the gravid greens is that they do not invert at all. I have seen them slightly tilted to one side when gravid, but just slightly. The photo below is of a gravid female from 2 years ago, and this is about as far to the side as I have ever seen them.

Great to hear! She is actually going into another shed right now, so hopefully that's a good sign! haha. As far as the sideways laying, that is very interesting to see in greens as well, very cool. With the girth of that girl, doesn't look like she could possibly get more sideways, haha.

Again, good luck with the new pair Kelly!

Thanks,

Hi Ben.....I am guessing your girl will drop apox 60 days after this shed.......pencil the date dude and we`ll see how close I am.......Mike

Nice to know! Hoping she will! Has yours always gone through two sheds before laying?

Last year there was one shed approx 60 days after pos and birth was approx 60days after that, I am finding she basks under the heat lamp a lot more this year since I keep humidity high most of the time..I didn`t last year and she avoided the lamp a lot, so this year her gestation may actually be shorter........

Very interesting. I'll post about her again 60-75 days after shed I guess! It's nice to have a basic average to go by. My girl is about average, spending 1/2 on heat and 1/2 off.
