This may sound ludicris but I'm curious...Last night as I was falling asleep (when I have all my best ideas like the one about getting a snake) I wondered if anybody had ever tried natural remedies to get rid of mites, such as garlic? I don't have mites but I did some research about garlic and fish bacteria and it does kill some of them (unpublished data by me 2003) and there is TONS of stuff about garlic working against bacteria, viruses, fungi, cestodes, flukes, fleas etc. on people, dogs, cats, baboons, and fish (published data). So would it work on mites? Are snakes sensitive to garlic? Does anybody know if any formal studies have been done on this or have any personal anecdotes? If garlic wasn't harmful to snakes I wonder if a nice bath infused with garlic might get rid of mites?
