Sick Rat Snake

Something I haven't seen before:
One of my bairdi looks as if she's eaten a big meal - in her front end. She regurgitated her last meal.
Due to the placement of the swelling, I would think her lungs were swollen and infected, but there is no sign of respiratory distress.
Perhaps it's a blockage of some sort in her alimentary canal. I will administer mineral oil to ease passage of an obstruction. Other than that, I'm at a loss.
Any thoughts?

Your signature has me guessing that you are quite familiar with reptiles and their common diseases, let me know if I"m wrong. You've heard of cryptosporidiosis? Is the swelling in the stomach region or more cranial? If not the stomach, it could very well be heart disease, the swelling, being the heart itself. I've seen it quite become quite dramatic. Both will have the symptoms you've mentioned, both are very serious. Skip the mineral oil as it probably won't help (although you still can't discount the unlikely possibility of an esophageal foreign body). Go to the vet asap, keep this animal quarantined for certain, and do what you can to not stress it out.

Good luck!

Ian
