Rescued this 'copperhead' from the road down the street from my house. 8-D

My neighbor flew over to my place because he knows of my affinity for all that has scales- 'There's a whole bunch of people checking out this copperhead on the side of the street- you gotta come rescue it!'

Thankfully, no rednecks 'took care of it', and I was able to bring it back to a really nice trail behind my place loaded with oaks, cedar and running water.

Thanks to Antelope for helping me positively identify it!

Awesome coloring on that guy! Looks like he gave you a taste of Texas!

Nice Texas rat! They often get mistaken for rattlesnakes too because of their tail shaking and bad attitude!

Awesome man, at least you got to it in time. It's the same way around here. If it's near the water it's a 'Cottonmouth' if it's on land it's a 'Copperhead'. Garters even get accused of being Coppers around here..............blah!

Yeah man- that drives me nuts!

I'm going to take out an ad in our local community newsletter and advertise FREE snake removal/relocation services.

Let them do the work for me, and hopefully spare a few more 'copperheads' and 'cottonmouths'! Haha!

Anybody up here in the Austin area that wants to do some road cruising, PM me... heading out at it alone is just not the same, and my wife just doesn't share my enthusiasm with me when I get home!

LOL. Nice "copperhead". Did it have the typical lindheimeri attitude?
