Do Green Anoles...

hhawk20005 Aug 14, 2003 01:09 PM

Hey everyone, Me again... With your Anoles, do you find that Green Anoles climb more that Brown? I just got my green anole, and i have had my brown for a while. My brown likes to just sit on lags and stuff on the ground. My new (green) anole, loves to climb the glass, sit upside down on the screen, and just sleep. Last night, i saw her sleeping on the screen upside down! Well, i should be posting some pix of them later today, so i guess ill check back on the posts then!

i find the browns to be more aggresive and they are usually pretty secretive. i have had mine for years and have only seen him eat one crix! he usually just sits really still for hours, while my greens will jump around like idiots. yea, mine also climb on the screens but the browns do that too usually. mine also seem to like doing there bat impression, sleeping upside down.mine will hang upside down on the screen and i will put my hand in with a cricket under them and they will just drop down on my hand, grab a cricket and go back up.... this usually only works with my cages that open from the front though.

lol, i dont think that my brown one would EVER jump on my hand. like you said, he is very secretive. he also just sits for hours, While the green one is jumping around like a psyco. almost like he is the father, and she is the crazy daughter w/ ADD! No offense to ppl who have it cuz so do i...but n-e way, the green anole would prolly eat from my hand, and she looks like she wants me 2 pick her up, but every time i read about anoles, it says definatly not! so i guess that rules everyth9ing out...

Yup, A. sagrei is "less arboreal" than A. carolinensis, at least according to what I've seen and the N. American Audubon reptile guide.

Yeah, definitely greens are much more arboreal. Perhaps that's why they're green and the browns are brown
