appropriate substrate

yogi41 Apr 30, 2007 04:47 AM

I currently use calcisand for my kenyan sand boa. I'm new to snakes and it said on the package that it is digestible. Is it okay to use calcisand for the sandboa's? because i heard they feel more secure and less stressed with dense substrate as opposed to aspen shavings. Thanks

I recommend aspen shavings or sani-chips(aspen product) as they hold the shape of the burrows for the snakes.

i also recommend aspen....

Less cleaning..and no chance of ingestion by the kenyan....
