Slate Hide/Basking

HittoriHanzo Apr 30, 2007 12:05 PM

I'm pretty happy with the way the first piece turned out. It's got openings ranging from 3/4" to 1/2". I think Bowser likes it also. I'm hoping that the slate will stay warm for a couple of hours after the lights go out. The glass looks dirty in the picture but I think it's just scratches that the camera picks up better than the eye, I assure everyone that it's clean. I'd still like to see others hides, basking areas, etc.

I think your hides look great. My hides are similar but instead of bonding the rocks together (which is a very smart idea) I just use several slanting and flat rocks wedged together to create the hides. I usually have to clean the enclosure by myself and if I bonded them together I would not be able to lift it if it got too heavy. I'm a freak about safety though and make sure the rocks are solid in place. Your baby should be very happy in the new home.
