West of Phoenix

JDM Apr 30, 2007 12:21 PM

Went out hiking in the morning and found some chucks. Later that evening, went out with the wife and kids to do some road cruising. Weather is great right now for herping the deserts!

The kids loved holding this little guy

This guy had a very pleasant disposition....at least during our photo session.

A trip out west just isn't the same without running across a few of these guys.

Here are the lousy pics of the chucks I mentioned before. Pics aren't so good...Im not very good at stalking lizards.

What kind of snake is that redish orange one?

JDM Apr 30, 2007 02:13 PM

It is a ground snake.

Excellent photography and excellent finds!
I can't wait to get back out to Vegas next month for some desert herping.
