rehashing old debate...UV light

ok, so is it true garter and water snakes require UV light for processing vitamin D? I have heard yes and no from experienced snake keepers

I have never used them and my garters have done just fine. snakes don't really need it.

thanks for the feedback. how many species of garters do you have?i have a chicago garter and a couple of radix. dont want much more although a checkered garter, black-neck, or texas garter would be cool additions.

I have a variety, wandering garters (t e vagrans), valley garters (t s fitchi), plains (t radix), easterns (t sirtalis sirtalis), northwesterns (t ordinoides)red sided (t sirtalis parietalis). I have a couple albino radix, melanistic easterns, orange yellow and silver easterns...
