Stupid Q--Plastic lizard in Viv?

cee4 Apr 30, 2007 05:42 PM

I have this colorful plastic chameleon that i want to put in my Tokay Viv.Do you think it would stress them out or are they smart enough to know its just a toy?

LOLOL No offense but why would you want to put a toy in with the Tokays? It's not like they gonna play with it.

Because the tokays hide and noone can see them except at night. The toy is really cute and I just thought it would look kinda nice to be able to see a lizard in there.
LOL I knew they wouldnt play with it..

Maybe you should consider lizards that are AWAKE during the day, and keep the toy lizard for yourself on a window sill, hehehhehe LMAO

I have a couple toy lizards that look real, sitting around on the floor in the reptile room near plants, and the real guys who run each day for exercise do not seem to notice them. However they are not in the cage.

Did I not mention it was a stupid question?
I see people putting skulls and stuff in tanks.I just thought it would look good in there but was concerned it might scare the lizards. They are wildcaught and no where near being tame. They dont need the added stress of a freaky plastic lizard staring at them if they cant tell its not real.

I hope I didn't offend you. I'm sure the lizards would quickly become used to whatever you place in the tank with them. I've got a racoon skull in with my AFT. The crickets hide inside it so he hangs out and waits for them to come out and explore LOL. Anything innatimate(sp) would be OK to put with them.

Thanks.I think I will just not use it now.I redid the cage last night and it looks so good I dont want to mess it up now with the plastic liz.

No you didnt offend me, I was an odd question.

discussion/ debate, don't matter how silly they may see to otheres, it was something you wantd to know.

** I personally think the tokays would have climbed on it, beat it up, and thrown it out onto the floor, LMAO

It'll be fine to put it in the cage with them Even if they seem bothered by it at first, they will quickly come to realize it is a fake!
