Jeff, I know you've posted this before but I don't remember seeing the cause. Did he eat a meal and his tail was under it and kept swallowing, or did he just decide to eat himself? I saw pics of a rat snake that did the same thing.

Reminds me of when i visited Chicago and went to the Weiner circle, the hot dogs were so good before i realised it, i was past the knuckles going for the wrist...needless to say, i was able to recover and get a nice italian beef sandwich directly afterwards.
Cant wait to get back up there.
Snakes do the darndest things, i have had several of those type of encounters, not quite that bad however.

The little guy did not go for the fuzzy rat that he had been offered instead mistaking his tail for something yummy to eat. He did not survive this mistake by the way. I was very depressed.
