What exactly did you write? I've never seen King Snake delete a post before (or I guess I just miss them) but what exactly happened?

Sorry for your loss, but I'm not sure a message forum could save anything. If you needed to you could have posted it on austin's turtle page forum.

I am sorry to hear that your turtle died. If your message
was erased I am sorry for that too. If the turtle died today
there probably was not much we could have done yesterday.

Did you take it to the vet?

I noticed the forum having a problem yesterday. I couldnt access anything but the archives for a while, then it cleared up eventually. Im sure if anything was deleted it was a mistake.

Dont think im taking your side. The care of your turtle is YOUR responsibility, no one elses. Maybe you shouldve done a little more research before getting your turtle. And just because you ask a question in this forum, doesnt mean youre always going to get facts. You have the internet, try using it.

Im sorry for your loss too, but it sounds to me like youre not ready to own a turtle.

OUCH don't be so harsh.

I have kept herps for the past 25 years, and on occasion have had a hatchling just up and die for no apparent reason. My temps have always been perfect (Temperature control, and automation is what I do for a living) the uv needs have also been above average. Yet still have had the occasional indescribable death.

The problem with some herps especially turtles is they have an uncanny ability to hide many serious illnesses until the very last second, and at that point without immediate intervention usually proves fatal. They hide these signs by instinct to avoid predation in the wild.

I agree 100% that anybody who wants any type of animal, especially any type of herp should do mountains of research before they get it.

I feel for his loss, but wouldnt immediately blame him for this death. Unless he has a necropsy done it may never be known what, or who was at fault.

I partly agree but I think that user posted his negative thoughts on the situtation because it sounded like the person who started the topic blames this message board for his loss... and that's definatley wrong because what can we do besides give advice which would ususally be "take it to a vet".. and that's just common sense

I was merely pointing out that the original poster was not "oppressed" by "the man" of kingsnake.com. I am curious to know what his original post said that got deleted. Unless the post had excessive profanity, im sure any deletion was not intentional and only due to a technical problem.
