lol...Tis the season! (OT)

Saw this lady on the road on my way home from work about an hour ago. Pretty sure it's a preggo female. Aaaaaaand! It's my favorite species! The Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake (Crotalus mitchellii pyrrhus). I recognized the species before I even got out of my car...

She was originally stretched out halfway across the road but when I got out she bailed.

She was rattling at me the entire time...

Awesome pics thanks for posting! I live in CO so its kinda hard to find rattlers on a constant basis so this summer Im gonna make some trips down to NM and hopefully get to so some picture takin and find some good ones down there! I grew up in OK and saw them all the time. Love the Rattlers!
