A SHARP COINCIDENCE!

salmonboa.com May 01, 2007 12:12 PM

This is an interesting coincidence concluding in two back to back Sharp strain Sunglow litters born the last two days of April 2007'. In 2003' we bred a Sharp albino male to a Salmon female whom we felt strongly was a Supersalmon. As it turns out, she was not a Super, but produced a very clean, beautiful litter of Salmons and normals that were 100% het. for Sharp strain albino. Keep in mind that this litter was born the last week of April in 2003'. We held back the two cleanest females and raised them up.

In 2005' we acquired two Sharp Sunglow males from a friend of ours in an effort to bring in some more distantly related Sharp albino blood. He was the second person to produce Sharp strain Sunglows and his litter was born in April of 2005'.

All four of these animals were more than ready to go this season so we paired them up for two opportunites to produce possible Super Sharp Sunglows from a Sharp Sunglow x DH Sharp Sunglow breeding.

Both females ovulated and shed within a week of each other. On April 29th the first female produced a litter of 16 and the next day, April 30th, the second litter of 20 was born!

Thanks for your view and congrats on all of the recent litters!
