Hey all,
If you could help me that would be great.
I just got a florida / European Kingsnake three weeks ago and have questions about enclosures. If you could help me with some of the answers that'd be great
the state of my snake to date is great. His name is Sunny. He is black and yellow and soo cute its silly. He has been eating, two feeding turns now. I feed him once weekly, 2 fuzzies. I can handle him, except most recently as he went through a shed, this took a few days and he was very cranky and I read I should leave him be till his eyes clear. then since he missed his eating day from the shed, I handled him for awhile then fed him, and I read I should leave him be for 24 hours after feeding. but so far I think hes good. He didnt shed in one whole sheathing, but he is not flaky, his eye caps are good, and he looks like a shiny new snake.
okay some direct questions.
whats the best cage?
keeping the enclosure (cage, housing etc.) heated.
I have one of those flexariums and dont have a temp gage yet, but because the housing is all screen like how do I keep it heated? My snake feels so cold when I pick him up. and Im concerned cause I will have air conditioning in the summer. I am afraid I wasted my money and he would be better in a hard glass cage to maintain the heat. but he also needs ventilation.. ahh!
My snake doesnt tour around his cage. I have a big cage that will suit him for his life, as long as the heating thing issnt a problem. I know the kingsnake likes to stay hidden and maybe he tours around when Im sleeping all night long for all I know. Any suggestions, or is this normal.
thats it for now, thanks in advance!
