anyone know how to get rid of them ... we sprayed them before we made the pen but now that we made the pen we can't spray them anymore ... anyway to get rid of them without harming the turtles?

Hey- we use honey mixed with boric acid. They go nuts over it. You can put it in a small container that has a little opening./patsy
You can get ant traps at any home and garden supply store or hardware store. Place the traps near to, but outside, the pen.

That's what I do to keep ants away from my hummingbird feeders. They get all over the hand rails on my porch so I tape the ant baits to the railing in spots the lead to the feeders.. this way no pets can get close to the baits.. works just great!

You can sprinkle diatemaceous earth (DE) directly on the ant mounds and all around inside your pen. The DE is very small crystals that tear up the ants but does not affect the turtles. You can buy DE at any swimming pool supply store or Home Depot.
