Avocado

Has anyone info on feeding avocado to 3 toed boxies? My male ate with gusto today. He smelled and smelled, then finally started taking bites./Patsy

Avocados are very high in fat. A single avocado can contain over 30g of fat, which may be a bit much for any species of box turtle except on a VERY infrequent basis, and in small quantities.

Let regionally available native foods be a guide to feeding your turtle: avocados are not native to the same region as 3-Toed box turtles, but many other foods are.
