At first glance, I would say Lesser. But I actually have a Mojave coming tomorrow that is so light and blushed out like that, it really doesn't look like a Mojave either. I'm assuming you already know the answer and this is a trick question? There are some sweet looking Mojaves out there if you can find them, so I'm gonna say "What is a Mojave, Alex"?

When I bought him I was told he is a mojave, but I was quit surprised when I got him that he looked like a lesser. So I was wondering what other people thought. Thanks for the response.

Oh. Cool. So you got a really nice Mojave. Congratulations. I'll post pics of mine when I get him tomorrow, for comparison. It's always nice to get an above average animal.

Thanks, that sounds good I look forward to seeing them.

Thanks

I'm changing my answer to: both. It's the result of a Mojave x Lesser breeding, exhibiting both characteristics. That's my final answer. But if I'm wrong, my computer at work has a screwed up video card and the whole screen has a blue cast to it so I can't see true colors. Disclaimer.

Blue eyed leucy.

I totally neglected to think ahead that if both traits were combined, you'd end up with a lucy. Ya never know though, genetics are funny like that. It's probably possible in some unusual punnet sqaure equation to end up with 2 co-dom traits combining and not form a dominant mutation? Maybe?

if we're voting... I say just a light colored mojave.

yeah, its a real light colored Mojave. Ryan, your looks every bit as awesome as this one. You'll see tomorrow!
If you bought it as a Mojave, its most likely a Mojave seeings how Lessers are a tad bit more. Only my personal opinion though.

I'm checking FedEx every 10 minutes to see if he's been delivered yet.

Well, if it comes from a mojave bloodline, then it is a mojave, no ifs ands or buts about it. I will agree however, that this animal does indeed exhibit the "Lesser" appearance/phenotype.

Hope this helps, just remember that the look doesn't make it a true lesser or mojave, it is the bloodline.

But what if this one where produced by one of those lesser mojave leucistics like the ones MKR was breeding (i.e. from both lines)? There will probably be times when you just can't tell even if the two lines are easy to distinguish most of the time.
