LOL!!

I do not believe the Trinidad BCC is the rarest Boa in nature or in captivity. That title likely belongs to Boa constrictor nebulosa of Dominica.. but if you recognise ortoni they may be as rare..
.
Here's a photo of a Trinidad BCC redtail on the ground in Trinidad..

That's an interesting and pretty boa you posted..

No one is working with either in the states? What happened to all the St. Lucian Boas pro exotics had?
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
That's a cool pic of that Trinidad on the ground in Trinidad.
How many times have these Trinidads been bred in captivity?
I have heard that they have only been bred in captivity 2-3 times. Any insight would be apprciated. I would love to pick up another male.
Thanks,
Alex C
Please send me an e-mail. I'd like to discuss this stuff too.

The picture I posted is also a true Trinidad BCC produced by Rob Tudehope...
That is one of the very few bloodlines out there where the local/origin is actually known and not speculated on. Rob's bloodline/animals come from the Emperor Valley Zoo in Trinidad.
They are as real/true as they get. Do you have any Trinidad BCC...LOL
Not that look like anything from Tudehope thats for sure.
All diversty BS aside ..... you'll not find anything in the wild that looks remotely like his stuff.
Im not into manufactured boid's or anything Het for Candy-Store.
As for owning .... not a species Im in any hurry to have.I have plenty of what I like now and thats what matters here.

That Trinidad pic I posted was an F1 from wildcaught parents.
I am sure there are plenty of boas that look like that and even better in the wild. What are you basing your statements on?
Been to Trinidad lately?? How many Trini's did you see?
Breeding two wildcaughts from a known locality together is not what I would consider a manufactured boa. The fact that they look better than all other Trinidads I have seen makes them more desireable, not manufactured.
Dude, he bred two animals that were imported from Trinidad and got awesome looking babies....don't be a hater!!
From something like 96 to 2001 I imported a number of shipments from Trinidad. Most of the boas that came in ( some I collected ) and I didn't bring a ton went to dealers with documentation from there I don't know who bought them. I'm guessing mostly locality collectors who judging from how few I see didn't do very good with them. A common story with imported redtails. The main reason stuff hasn't come in from there recently is it's really not worth it from a business stand point.
Nebulosa probably isn't the rarest boa. It does have a very small range on Dominica but it's a very common snake in that range. Being fully protected it isn't under any immediate threat. Back in 89 I had some of the first seen in the US that I sold for if I remember right for $1100.00 at the All Ohio Show. These went to another vender. A bunch more popped up over the next three years give or take and at least one guy I know did pretty good breeding his trio. They weren't popular and he told me the last ones he sold in 96 maybe , went for around $250.00 . I'm guessing that because of the low interest level most of them just got lost in the mix over the next few years. Guys trading them, not breeding them or mixing them with something else some dying that type of thing are all probable reasons why now you can't find them.
I would think one of the insular populations of boas found off the coast of Central America would be the rarest. It's hard to sat exactly which one . This due to the always bad combination of habit destruction and small population and range . You don't have to be a prophet to see that some of the island populations will no longer exist in ten years or less ! Ernie Eison
I completely agree with Ernie about the relative abundance of the Dominica boas in nature. Perhaps I misunderstood the question, I wrote earlier I believed the Nebulosa to be about the hardest to find in captivity. I wasn't making any statements on wild-populations.
.
Good info, Ernie E.

Best of luck,
