Leaping Dragon

Jake_Jackson May 02, 2007 06:16 PM

As you know I wk from home.

I left my screen lid off for a while, came back and closed it. Noticed my beardie hoping all around like crazy. Noticed there was a fly in there and he was trying to catch it. I let him attepmt a few more times, but then became worried the fly would be bad for him to attempt.

Just wondered if anyone had seen thier beardie hoping around. Pretty kool.lol.

I haven't witnessed that but I bet it was comical . Also, if he caught and ate it, I doubt it would do him any harm.

Regular houseflies are ok as a rare treat, so if he ate it before you realized he was trying to get at the fly, it wouldn't have harmed him. However, I don't recommend feeding wild caught bugs due to not knowing if they came in contact with any insecticides which can be harmful to your dragon. Also, never let a dragon eat a firefly, it will kill them, these are highly toxic to bearded dragons.

But I have to say it is very comical watching dragons bouncing around trying to get at a fly or moth. The other day my dragon saw a fly flying around just outside her cage and she really was doing her best to get through the clear wall of her cage to get that fly.
