Looking for info to help fight HB13

Skyz May 03, 2007 02:22 AM

I've been trying to find info to pass around to help with HB1309... Info like has there even been anyone bitten by a non native venomous snake in Texas....if so how many... when...ect.. Has there EVER been a case where someone has had a problem with a loose large constrictor in Texas (EX: being bitten or a pet eatten by one... ect...)Have there even been news reports about a loose large constrictor...ect.... I can't seem to find ANYTHING on it.... The most I've found to use in my letters is info like . “In 2002 98.2% of reported severe animal attacks we caused by domestic dogs and cats! In 2001 97.1 % of attacks were from domestic dogs and cats. The other species reported were squirrels, rats, monkeys, a bat, donkey, horse, rabbit and tiger!” (Texas Department of Health Zoonosis Control Division)." Or "Only 1 or 2 people a year are killed by NATIVE venomous snakes"... I'm just trying to find FACTS to put in my letters to the House... Any info would be great!

Has nothing to do with facts. It has come a long way in that it used to be any non-native constrictor as well... So if you had an Asian rat snake it would be covered just like a 15 foot python or naja..

But the info on this is in the link..
