Looking to get a burm

netoibarra May 03, 2007 04:27 AM

Hey guys, I currently own all ball pythons, but I would love to own a burmese. I have a 4 x 2 x 2 critter condo. My question is: if I buy a hatchling burm, how long could I keep it in the critter condo? Time wise and lenght wise on a normal feeding, not power feeding. Thanks.

Not sure what a critter condo is, but at 4 foot by 2 foot cage, it depends. Some say the cage should be half the length. That would mean when it got to 8ft.

Second is are you talking about a male or female. Females grow bigger. If the lid on that is a screen top, that is another concern. Because if they want to push out, it will in time. I had mine in a glass cage for a year, before I moved her.

Just guessing, I would say a year. My female burm got up to 6ft in a year. Then I moved her into a 6ft cage, that she was outgrowing it in 3 years and before I could move her into an 8ft cage, she passed away.

Its a great snake. My next burm will be a male. She was a big slug.

Good Luck

Jeff
