Reflection Questions

I build a large enclosure for my iguana George. It's wood and plexiglass. Well George sees his reflection in the plexiglass and he rams at it all the time. He thinks his reflection is another iguana and he tries to attack it. It got so bad that he developed an infection on his nose from hitting it so hard, which the vet took care of. I need to do something to block his reflection, currently I have taped up paper inside his cage to block the reflection, but it's only a temporary solution. I thought about sanding the plexi on the inside but I still want to be able to see him. And I’m worried if I sand it you wont be able to see anything but a green blob in the cage. Does anyone have any ideas?

You would only need to sand 4-6 inches (as in height) of plexi, the rest can be clear. Unless you're 1 foot tall, you should be able to see just fine
Fake foliage (like those suction-cup vines) placed at the bottom along the perimeter can help.
Small rocks are another deterrent.
