New substrate

yeah ive seen it in a cage display at LLL reptile the last few times i was there. it looks cool but the thing that would suck is if you want to hold your reptile you cant get it unless you dig up their hole or they come out. also they might poop in it or something and you wont be able to clean it out. if you feed crickets they also will get in there constantly and bug your animal. but other then that there is no loose substrate so thats a good thing. maybe you could sculpt it yourself and make a lid so that you can clean it and stuff when you need to.

The crickets might be a problem, but if there is one thing about animals its that they wont poop in the den its most likly going to be only small enough for them to just fit seeing on how its a way to stay safe from preditors. But if I would use it I would probably keep everything else simple with sculpting so it wouldnt be difficult to maintain.

well yeah most of the time they dont poop in their boxes but i have had some do it. and sometimes it only happens once a year but o well...it does happen though.

"WARNING: Not for use with under tank heaters. Avoid getting wet Excavator substrate on clothes or any household items as staining may occur. Place your reptile food in a feeding dish to avoid accidental ingestion of substrate which may cause impaction."

i checked it out too but if you cant use it with uth whats the point? i was thinking about using it to fill in the holes around the rocks in teh tank to keep geckos from sneaking int he cracks and hiding.
