Multistriata can be very a very light orange or terra cotta color which is the likely origin of that common name. Here's a mix of adults and hatchlings that capture the 'pale' name. But there are certainly just as many dark or rusty or yellow animals circulating from numerous localities.

That little Cherry Co. in the first pic is still amazing even after seeing that pic so many times. I think you should post it once a week as sort of a motivational effort. Your super light animals just about kill me too, Jeff. Nice group.

Thanx for the kind words Sunherp, the pics are a bit old now, I assume everybody's seen them. The middle pic is Dad and the two other top and bottom are (I beieve) the same snake 4 years apart.

Anybody else have a theory on the common name 'pale'? Could also be that the white stays comparatively lighter than gentilis or the black bands are often narrower. Fewer crossovers? Or they turn up under the milk 'pail'. I dunno but I sure like them....

I'm running w/ the "under the Milk Pail" theory. I smell thesis in the works for Jeff.

Those are very nice, all of them. I really like the red cap on the gentilis in the bottom photo.
Shannon, you and Jeff H. have some of the best gentilis out there, glad your working w/ them again, too.

I need to try and post some photos of new animals Cole and I got, and this thread kicked me in the arse to get it done today.

Keep those photos coming, I like them.
