My nice big fat (not too fat) ghost motley het stripe female laid this huge mega clutch today. 40 plus eggs! Way cool. She was breed to a huge healthy ghost motley male also het stripe. Once a friend of my many years ago caught a wild gravid corn in Hillsborough County Florida that laid 43 eggs which all hatched. From my experience 40 plus clucthes don't happen that often in corns. So I consider it a real blessing! mike

Wow Mike,
My largest clutch ever when I used to breed allot of corns was 37 with 31 being good.It was a giant over five foot snow corn.
Anyway,That is killer and you should see some cool babies in that clutch.

wow....the most I ever saw was 34...all hatched.........

......this year I am getting 20 average per snake.....couple over a couple under.....but most are laying 20........I think it's a conspiracy..........

I thought I had the record, which coincidentally was 43 laid. The female was a 5 foot plus Okeetee (wild caught by me back in early 1990s and no longer with us), who laid 43(all the eggs hatched successfully), but what was astounding is that she double clutched and gave me a second clutch of 27!!!! all of those were also good. I lost another female as well in a power outage accident and she was consistently giving me clutches of mid 30s to 41 annually. Pretty amazing clutch sizes from some of these corns wouldn't you say?

That's almost shocking. Very impressive of her. Imagine what she could do if you really pumped her up.
How emaciated was she after it was over?
