Possibly Pregnant behavior?...long

LordDreyfus May 04, 2007 06:53 AM

I've had an adult male (4yrs old, 5ft ) in with my largest female (over 9 ft and approx 13 years old)for about 3 months. He has attempted to breed her constantly up till just recently (2 weeks). He quit courting her when he went into a shed cycle. However, he didn't resume courtship when the shed cycle ended. The female has now begun her shed cycle. She is also kind of laying on her side. I never observed ovulation. She doesn't appear to be swollen, but she is a 40 pounder so it may not be too obvious at this stage anyway. Could this be the POS? Or is it just wishful thinking on my part?

I guess she is either pregnant, or I've missed the "window".

Couldn't say for sure but leave him in with her and mark the date of the shed. If he doesn't resume courting her in a couple of weeks after she sheds then like you said she is either gravid or no longer "in season". Then it is just a waiting game and checking other signs like her body temps, her seeking the warm side of the cage, sitting in HCP, etc....

Good luck
