New Aboreal ATB cage?

ttreptile1 May 21, 2003 03:19 PM

This is the cage I just got finished making. Will this work for a single or pair of ATBs? I have been tolf GTPs and ETBs are out of the question for this tank. (36Hx24Wx18D) I posted more details in the caging forum. Let me know your thoughts.

I think it may need a little more ventilation, bot other than that, it looks fine. Who said it wasn't appropraite for GTPs or ETBs? The general care aspects for the arboreals are in the same spectrum, so I don't see why it would'nt work.

24x18" of floor area is a little too small for anything over 4 feet in length. It could easily house a juvenile or juvie pair of ATBs. I also keep Chondros, and really don't see why that cage wouldn't work for a smaller Chondro (4 feet or smaller) as well. Personally, I prefer keeping juvies on display, as display type enclosures with large animals are really tough to keep looking good.

Looks like a great tank. Personally I would say that is fine for a pair of amazons. Rememer it is total tank space that you need to be concerned about, not floor space as with ground dwellers. Perfect for a pair. Infact I keep breeding pairs in tanks that are 24 high x 24 deep x 18 wide, and they feed and breed for me every year and I am yet to have a problem with them.
