Well by the time i got home from work she had layed 5 big healthy eggs. This is my first clutch of ball pythons, and to my surprise ball pythons have very good motherly instincts, she was not happy about giving up her eggs. Even this morning she is all wired and crazy like she is searching for her eggs, and she still acts like she is going to strike when ever i get near her. Here is a pic of the eggs.

Congrats on the eggs - Did you remember to clean Mom and her tub after you pulled the eggs? Otherwise she will continue to look for them and won't likely start eating for a while.

Good luck!

I have never breed ball pythons, but plan to in the future. This is the first time that I have heard that you have to clean mom and I was wondering how you go about doing this? Thanks Melisa

Just wash her off with a little Dawn or Ivory soap - lather her up and rinse - clean and disinfect her cage too - gets rid of the smell of eggs.

What type of cleaning agent do you use to clean ur tubs with?

I use either chlorhexidine or a diluted bleach solution - depending on what I have on hand come tub cleaning day.
