Birthing question

Buffysmom May 04, 2007 11:10 AM

Hi, I'm a first time boa grandma-to-be & I'm anxious. My girl pooped on 4/30, it rained last night (the book said they'll often give birth during a rain) & she still has not given birth. Should I be worried, or is it OK for it to be so far out from when they poo?

Just curious about when you fed her last and what size of a meal? If you have been feeding, how often?

I guess the main question is, when is she due? Do you know how many days since her POS? If she's really close (within 30 days) I would suggest not feeding her any more until she gives birth.

She shed (that's POS, right?) on 12/19/06. That was 136 days ago. This seems unusually long according the Boa manual...

She ate last on 3/5 & has refused even the smallest meals since then.

This is her first litter. She's definately gravid. She's not cruising around, although she is moving between warm & cool hides at least once every 24 hours.

Should I be worried, or is she just taking longer than normal?
