Redtail behavior question

tcross69 May 04, 2007 11:18 AM

My friend has a colombian redatil that she says has lately been striking the glass of her cage anytime there is even slight movement near the cage. She has fed it 2 rats in the last week and it has not been in the shedding process(I thought maybe its eyes were obscured due to the shed). Anyways, I have only kept ball pythons so have no clue as to the behavior of boas, but i know this isnt normal.Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Troy

Is it possibly in higher temps than it was? Too much heat and snakes can get a little cranky.

I'm not mean. You're just a sissy.

Thanks Sonya for the input. I asked my friend and she said that they had added a heat lamp on top of the 2 heat pads they had under the tank. I suggested to her to get a thermometer of some sort and unplug 1 of the pads so the boa has a cooler side to go to if need be. Thanks again for the input.
