The Boyfriend

PHLdyPayne May 04, 2007 06:15 PM

Decided to take pictures of the boyfriend for my 6' female brazilian rainbow boa I posted a couple days ago (Tuesday I believe it was). Of course, he was in blue...so you can't really see his color. He is more orangy than the female. Once he sheds, will take fresh pictures then.

I noticed something odd about the scales on his head...looks either he has some poop on his head or the scales are damaged...once he sheds, will see what it looks like. Just in case its an injury I didn't notice before, put a bit of polysporin on it. He didn't fuss about that at all...probably couldn't really see me doing it.

He also has a broken brow stripe that I haven't seen on other Brazilians posted here. Not sure if this means anything or just he has a broken brow strip...its the same on both sides, only the central stripe is whole.

Thats a pretty boy you have there. I like the broken stripe. I have seen one other BRB with the broken head stripe. It was a baby that was for sale, but I can't remember where.

sure to post pics after he sheds, I love before and after pics, I remember the first time I saw an adult brazilian in full blue, entire snake was blue and I mean blue!!! in other snakes the eyes cloud (blueish) and pattern becomes faded, I wonder if white lip pythons and boelens do the same when they go through their ecdysis cycle, not sure and never kept them, but when a brazilian is full blue it's an understatement compared to all other snakes I have kept to date. My yellow anacondas do blue a little but nothing like brazilians. Here's a pic of one of the little nasties.
