i am interested in purchasing a ball python. i was just wondering how large around they get? about the size of a human male's wrist? or larger or smaller?

Ball Pythons grow to around 4' to maybe 5'.

The females are usually thicker than the males, maybe a little bigger than the width of a can of soda in the middle when full grown. They stop growing longer after a few years and just pack on weight in the mid-section. Sort of like people when they hit 35..no?

They make great pets and almost all of them are very docile, except when they are eating.
