A little scared i guess.. and need advic

I'm going to be buying a ball python soon and would like to get a little fancier than a normal. It looks like I might have to order from a breeder online to get something like that. As there is only 1 breeder close to home. Ive never ordered online before like this, I'm more of a hands on person. My worry is that I will get a bp that is not so friendly and will always want to bite. I had a ball before, and she was great, but I know there are some that are not so friendly. What are the chances the bp I buy online will not be friendly? Is there a way to avoid it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ask it's temperament before buying - buy from someone that either had the snake as a pet previously (and handled it frequently) or a breeder that takes the time to socialize their snakes. Remember even the nicest snake will get stressed and may be nippy after shipping. A ball bite is a lot less than a dog bite or a really good cat scratch - so it's really nothing to fear - but if you are looking for a "lap dog" type of snake ask before buying.
