help me out

PIG May 06, 2007 11:19 PM

I have a list of lizards that are available in my area. I'm basically looking for something that is not too much to maintain. I would also like to be able to handle it. Could someone please oint out any that do not fit those two requirements? I know very little about a most of them, and what I do know is probably wrong. Actually, what I do know is probably right, but it's just easier to ask you nice, educated people.

Irian Jaya Blue-tongued Skink
Spiny-tailed Iguana
Brown Basilisk
Jones Armadillo Lizard
Cuban Knight Anole
Bearded Gecko
Tokay Gecko
Skunk Gecko
Fat-tailed Gecko
Mossy Leaf-tailed Gecko
Pictus Gecko
Crocodile Gecko
Golden Gecko
Crested Gecko
Leopard Gecko

Thank you!

I would go with the fat tail gecko, leopard gecko or blue tongue skink as these are the only ones that I know of that commonly accept being handled and are easy to maintain. The easiest probably being the leopard gecko. I would suggest you read through the forums and check out some care sheets to see which one is more suited to your tastes.

I was thinking along those lines. But what about Crested geckos, bearded dragons and armadillo lizards? From what I understand, they are all fairly tamable, no?

yes they can be quite tame. the beardie have a higher startup cost then most. i highly recommend the lep gecko. they are great liz's i have one now and he is funny and amazing to watch at night. he is like the night patrolman, hope this helps.
