condensation in egg boxes...

wisema2297 May 07, 2007 12:18 PM

nest boxes in the incubator have condensation built up on the bottom of the tops. I've herd not to spray water directly onto the eggs but what of condensation dripping on them?

I wouldn't be quite as worried about it dripping on the eggs but it sounds to me like you need to wring a little of the water out of your incubation media or possibly add a little more to help absorb some of the water.

Yeah, I was using egg containers with no ventilation holes, A La Don Soderberg. I tried the squeeze test on the vermiculite/perlite substrate and it held pretty well with a little crumbling so I don't think it is too wet. I have added some ventilation to see if this helps.

Yes, that did get a little out of hand. Think maybe we could somehow tie in breeding 18 inch females to that discussion and have some real fun??!!
