My new king hybrid!

Mikanik May 07, 2007 12:47 PM

Never posted here before, but since I just got my first king I thought this would be as good a time as any!

This is "Guiness" my MBK/Florida King hybrid. He's one of my prettiest snakes! I'll get more pics of his belly so you guys can see how cool it looks, but for now...

You don't see that everyday! That snake has a neat pattern on it and a sockhead to boot!

Thanks for replying!

That snake in your pic is beaut-i-ful!

By sock head I'm assuming ya mean the head is one color? Correct me if I'm wrong!

I'm going to take some "neck" shots tomorrow and post 'em.

yeah, sock head is a term referring to an all black head, the more neck included the better. Some splendida have patterns on their heads some only on the labials.

Vey interesting croos and one I have not seen done before. Do you know who did the cross? As with most hybrids the F2 gen (brother and sister breeding) will probably come out very different looking.

Also there is a hybrid forum on here. Some people frown upon posts (especially hybrid posts) on the wrong forum. Personally I like would like to see more hybrids that resemble pure species on here so that responsible herpetoculturits can be intellingently informed.

Thanks for the reply!

I love the little guy..even though he's still "iffy" with me! The breeder is local (and the sweetest lady I know!) and a friend of mine. My boss owns the dad (hypo brooks) and she owns the mom (MBK). She was hoping to have a breeding pair, but when we sexed them the ones she kept turned out to be all males! She definitely kicking herself, but either way she had some neat babies!

Sorry about posting in this forum, for those of you who frown up on it! ( I'm still kinda new to posting here and didn't know! hehe
