Need Help......eye problem

BIGDADDYBOAS May 07, 2007 01:11 PM

Hi, just noticed one of my smaller snakes had a problem with her eye that is a possible infection. She just shed 2 days ago but I have never seen an entire shed come off perfect and a small patch stay only on the eye. The other eye is fine but the right one seems to be developing a problem. It looks as though it has a cover on it that is hardened. Has any body else had a similar problem and what could be some possible remedies. It is a very small snake so I am a little worried. thank you for your help in advance

Hi it looks like the snake has retained its eye cap this can
be removed by soaking the eye and gently lifting off the eye cap
you normally find as you soak the eye the cap will start to move
once enough moisture has been applied

Hope this helps

Soak her for a couple of hours then carefully try to pull off the eye cap.
