Strange question??

melindaste May 07, 2007 02:52 PM

I have four females that are very close to laying eggs, I have notice that they all look darker then normal, like when they are going into a shed , but they are not going into shed. Does this happen when they are close to laying? Temps and humidity are all good.. Just something I noticed..

Not sure what the reason is for it, but mine are the same way. Maybe it's just a mood thing.

It makes me feel better.. It is funny only those four are darker, everyone else looks good. I know when I was at the end of my own pregnancy If I could I would have been dark looking also..LOL

why would YOU want to be darker?........you think people will think you just came from Cabo?........

anyways...

yes...they get light when or before ovulation.....I forget ......they get real bright...people in here were all posting the glow before they go pics.......then they get really dark.......hormone things.....

.....if they are darker they will be harder to see when predators find them setting on the nest in a hole in the ground.....I would say it allows them to absorb more heat from the sun.......but they will be underground.......although they may come up in the day to the entrance to get sun?....someone has to find this out.......
