Why would you want to do this in the first place?

I have an extream problem feeder female pastel. She will only take food if i put it in her mouth. i am able to get a small day old pink in her mouth and she will eat it. I want to tie on a hopper. I have tryed everything!!! I will not Force feed her. I just need her to kepp eating. I have tried to introdudce the head of a larger food item after she takes the pinki but she just ball up.

Did you think that part through yet?

I'm just wondering.. I have heard some snakes go for months without eating.. why must this one be forced to feed?? What makes it different than any other that is just fasting..

SUPREMLY unorthodox but I would imagine it would be 1000000% safer than string

You can use thread and it wont hurt the snake, but I would check with a vet and find some absorbable suture it works better.Terry

100% cotton string only - should pass with no problem - but I'd go ahead and assist feed a larger item and figure out the underlying problem with the snake.

Why not just offer her hoppers instead of pinkies?

I don't recommend letting a snake eat any non digestable item such as string. String tends to ball up and can cause problems. Sausage casings rolled up to be like a string will be better as it will break down in digestion.

she is an 06' she was shipped to a friend of mine before her first meal. she had not eaten for what he said was two and a half months. he had to introduce a pinki into her mouth then she would swallow it. He gave up on her and sent her to me. I have tried f/t and live pinkies, hoppers, mice, cented with chicks, and gerbils. I have tried all of the above combonations. she has been in my care for three months. she took hopper mice two weeks apart when i got her. I introduced the hopper into her mouth and she ate it. after that she got very very finikie. she did not eat for a month. She just spit out what ever i put in. through out all this i have tried to use live and f/t other food items. She is in ideal conditions and is not put under any stress other that the feeding procedure. I got her to take in one more hopper two weeks ago. last night i was able to tie a small mouse with 100% cotton string to the pinki. She took them both. by the way she was 53g when i got her. she has sheD twice and pooped three times. the first poop was nasty and they keep getting better. I am not a idot as far as getting her snakes to eat. I have owned and breed python for the last 6 years. I have worked with 5inch anthills to 15 foot retics and everything in between.
