......I'm a hot snake guy and alterna are not really my thing. They are nice though. I also got a pictigaster the same night of the alterna, but I have been told they are integrades. Anyone have any insight on that. I have heard pure pictigaster are only found WEST of the Pecos River. This one shows to be pictigaster by the black edging on either side of the crossbands.

The copperheads from Reagan, Edwards and the northeastern portion of Val Verde County generally appear to be Agkistrodon c. pictigaster x laticinctus intergrades. Those from the western part of Val Verde County are pure pictigaster. However, I am not sure about the Pecos River being the magic dividing line. I've seen some from Juno Road that look to be pure pictigaster.
