homemade enclosures

pig May 07, 2007 08:56 PM

I am very close to purchasing a blue tounged skink, only the enclosure it comes with is 6x3' and my dad refuses me to get it. A smaller size would pursuade him, and that would definately involve something homemade since prices for large tanks are blinding. I read the minimum for a full grown, around 20" skink is 3x3' or 2x4'. Is this alright, bearing in mind that it will spend a lot of time outside as well. And does anyone know of any good and cheap products to use? A site or fourm would be great.
Thank you!

Read the thread below labeled "space".

For a Northern, a 3 foot cage would be small. If you cant use the larger cage, think of a different lizard species to get instead. I hate seeing blueys crammed into some tiny little glass box.
