New Salmon

BRB_Russ May 08, 2007 10:32 AM

I've been wanting a Salmon for a while now and i finally got one from a local pet store. No pics yet but i do have a question, i have a Salmon now (female) and a Male Guyana, has anyone bred some pure Guyana's (BCI's) and gotten a full BCI Salmon, to the best of my knowlage all Salmons i've seen were BCC's. . . I figure i can breed them and get Salmons that are 50% Guyana, but eventually i'd love to get a Full Guyana Salmon (widows peaks etc)

thanks!

Ill snap some pics when i get home.

BCI = Collumbian Argentinian etc

BCI range from Mexico down through Central America and into Colombia. Plus some added islands off the east coast of CA.

BCC are in Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, and Trinidad.

Argentine Boas are B.c.occidentalis.

Other subspecies are Longicauda, amarali, sabogae, nebulosus, orophias, and the debateable ortonii and melanogaster.
