OT Tuesday - Alligator pics

miloradovich May 08, 2007 02:18 PM

Here are a few of my favorite alligator shots that I have taken. All three were taken in Texas while I was visiting my Dad down there. The first two were taken at Brazos Bend State Park. Crocodilains are one of my favorite reptiles but because of their potnetial size and aquatic nature too much maintance for me to want to keep more than just a little one in my house. I do enjoy admiring them in the wild though.

For this one I had to climb out over the water on the log to get a nice head shot but I was real pleased with the outcome.

This one was basking on the bank when I first approached it but when I got a little too close he took of into the water and I was able to get a good shot of him swimming off.

The Lucistic was taken through glass at the Houston Zoo. I thought he was pretty cool looking although I would have liked to see him move around a bit. He looked kinda sickly behind glass with a red heat lamp over him.

Enjoy the pics, Milo

OT Tuesday was definately a good idea. Its fun to see all the diferent things that people here are working with, not just the common thread that brings us all toghether on this forum. (Not that I'd ever get tired of Rainbow pictures)

Loved the pics and yes OT tuesday is real nice. Besides reading everyone's comments you also get to know them in a sense sorta especially what other kinds of reptiles they keep and other passions they might have and not having to visit other forums for variety is pricele$$ thanks for sharing? Don't you have a female due soon btw?

Yeah I do have a female BRB due soon. Only one female bred for me this year but she always has real nice babies. The father is the guy pictured on the contest forum too. That pair has given me 3 litters and so far and I have been real pleased with the outcome each time.
I ve got a couple of BCI that bred late that may or may not be pregnant. It is hard to say, BCI breeding was very weird for me this year. Usually it goes like clockwork but this year had some real late starts. I think they may have been affected by the wierd and long winter we had here in CO. I know I was!

Best of luck Milo with the babies. I remember seeing a pic of your gravid female on the boa forum awhile back and the contest pic is definately in the top 3 best pics OF ALL TIME Your male is a pimp and he should definately have as many girls as he wants cuz he deserves it with looks like those. What was roughly the % of orange offspring from this pairing if u keep stats?
